Coding agents flipped the review economy: seconds to generate, hours to debunk. Between late 2024 and mid-2026, curl, Ghostty, tldraw, the Linux kernel, LLVM, NetBSD, Fedora, WordPress, NewPipe, typescript-eslint, llama.cpp, Jazzband, and many more projects rewrote their contribution policies in response. This post walks the primary sources and groups the responses into three policy families: outright bans, human-in-the-loop, and structural closure.
