In this article, I’d like to share from an engineer’s perspective what happened behind the scenes during the launch, as well as the tech stack powering Giselle.
Giselle is an open source platform that allows anyone to build AI applications using an intuitive visual interface, even without programming knowledge.
We started this project with the vision of “making the benefits of AI accessible to everyone, not just specialists.” With Giselle, you can create diverse AI apps like chatbots, document summarizers, and data analysis tools in a no-code manner, simply by connecting nodes together.
To realize this vision of “democratizing AI,” we chose to release Giselle as open source and grow it together with developers and creators around the world.
At 17:01 JST on December 29th, we published our Product Hunt page and entered the 24-hour ranking battle.
Amidst powerful products launching one after another from around the world, Giselle was supported by warm encouragement and upvotes from many people, and temporarily achieved the #1 spot in the middle of the launch. Seeing the community come together to support us, primarily through X, LinkedIn, and Facebook, was truly reassuring and moving.

Build and run AI workflows. Open source.https://t.co/5LGpDaxd7G
In the end, we finished in 2nd place, falling just short. However, through this challenge, we received numerous valuable feedback and encouraging messages from users around the world. I feel this was an achievement even more valuable than increased product visibility.
This success on Product Hunt is a major milestone for Giselle to spread its wings to the world. However, this is not the goal but merely a new starting line.
We will sincerely take the feedback we received to heart and continue to evolve Giselle into an even better product together with the open source community. Our goal is to deliver “10x customer value.”
Please check out our GitHub repository. We wholeheartedly welcome contributions in any form - Stars, Issues, Pull Requests. Let’s create together a world where anyone can build AI apps!
That’s all from the Gemba, where we celebrated Giselle, the open source AI app builder, achieving #2 worldwide on Product Hunt.
