I became a GitHub Sponsor of Anthony Fu (antfu).
The Trigger: Migrating from Marp to Slidev
The trigger was migrating my presentation tool from Marp to Slidev.
After actually using Slidev, I was impressed by its excellent developer experience — its compatibility with Claude Code, theme customization, embedded demo videos, and more. I wanted to express my gratitude to the creator who provides such a powerful tool as open source, so I decided to support him through GitHub Sponsors.
Gratitude to antfu
antfu is a core team member of Vue, Nuxt, and Vite, and as an individual developer, he continues to create numerous open-source projects. His major projects alone include:
- Slidev — Presentation Slides for Developers
- Vitest — Next generation testing framework powered by Vite
- UnoCSS — The instant on-demand atomic CSS engine
- VueUse — Collection of essential Vue Composition Utilities
- Shiki — Syntax highlighter
- Elk — Mastodon web client
While Slidev was my trigger, looking back, I had been benefiting from antfu’s projects like Vitest and Shiki for quite some time. It’s truly remarkable that a single developer continues to create such high-quality tools across such a wide range of areas.
How to Sponsor via GitHub Sponsors
You can sponsor antfu through GitHub Sponsors.
🔗 Sponsor @antfu on GitHub Sponsors
Sponsorship starts at $4 per month, and depending on the tier, your avatar and name will be displayed on project READMEs. One-time donations are also accepted.
Summary
Behind every tool we use daily, there’s a developer who keeps building and maintaining it. This time, Slidev led me to learn more about antfu’s work, and I decided to support him through GitHub Sponsors.
I plan to continue supporting the OSS projects I benefit from on a daily basis, even if it’s a small amount, on an ongoing basis.
That’s all from the Gemba, reporting on becoming a GitHub Sponsor of antfu.
